Have you ever experienced two conflicting feelings at the same time? Pity and victory?

So happy for what you have but at the same time feel a true sorrow for what someone else has lost?

Ever took satisfaction in someone else's loss because it became your gain?
But seconds later want to cry for that person?

Is it possible to feel smug and pity/compassion at the same exact time?

I think it is.

Does it make you a bad person?

I think it makes you honest.

We are all wired to want to "win", to get what we truly believe we deserve.

Of course it feels amazing to have something you want/deserve/need.

I think that a "good" person can admit to these conflicting feelings.
A good person can thoroughly experience these feelings knowing it doesn't make them bad, just REAL.

I am totally with you on this. It's a perfect example of being "real" like you said. I just wanna say AMEN!!! Being real is way better than the alternative. In most cases...I'd say not those that involve your husbands boss or your boss or something like that, but you know what i mean.

and p.s. i totally should have gotten pictures of shenanigans in the exec lounge, but i didn't! where are you when i need you?!!!

Very true. It's the "good" kind of human nature.

I believe we get what we deserve. And not always a loss stays a loss for a long time. Sometimes it's a process that helps you going in a more creative way, sometimes you win because you've already did everything you could have done. Wash away guilty feelings, they never help.
